Most of us will never think about the sewer pipes on our property; firstly, because it is an unpleasant subject to think and talk about and secondly, because the sewer pipes are hidden under the ground so – out of sight, out of mind.
Sewage discharges can lead to the spread of potentially dangerous bacteria, like E Coli, into the surrounding ground and water table, where it can possibly contaminate the source of the water used for drinking, cooking, bathing and household cleaning.
If you notice a damp patch somewhere on your property that gives off a foul odor, then this could indicate a damaged or worn out sewer pipe under the ground. Get a good plumber to take care of it immediately. If it is left unattended to, it will worsen and possibly become a health hazard.
