If you want to save space and cut your electricity bills, buy a tankless water heater. Conventional tank water heaters use up a considerable amount of floor space, whereas a tankless water heater takes up very little space and can be installed in the interior or exterior of your home. For people living in small apartments with restricted space, this is a major benefit.
The beauty of tankless water heater technology – also known as “on-demand water heating” – is that the water you need is heated in about 5 seconds as it passes through the heating pipes. A conventional water heater needs to keep water hot for 24 hours, which means major electricity costs even when not in use.
With a tankless water heater, there are no problems with hot water running out, even for a large family. Everyone can enjoy a daily bath. You need not adjust your washing machine to a cold cycle, and your dishwasher can run as usual. The average lifespan of a tankless water heater is 20 years, whereas a conventional water heater only lasts 10-12 years.
You can further cut costs by using natural or propane gas to operate your tankless water heater. Obviously gas is much cheaper than electricity, so you will save even further. Tankless models come with self-diagnostic capability that allows you to find any potential faults. Rinnai tankless water heaters are covered by a limited 12-year warranty, which is a great bonus.
